The objective of this research was the application of a procedure that allowed the selection of suppliers, specifically for maintenance services, at the hotel “Cubanacan Las Cuevas”, based on the Critical Success Factors of this function. The institution presented the need for a procedure to support the arduous task of selecting maintenance suppliers, which would facilitate their subsequent evaluation, since the hotel did not have a defined policy for contracting these services. In the development of the proposal, different tools were used, such as direct observation, interview, documentary analysis, work with experts, and statistical methods. The practical application of the procedure allows the entity to: identify potential suppliers of these services by using all relevant sources of information for their location; define the methods, selection criteria and indices (qualitative and quantitative) to be used; and establish a process for negotiating maintenance service opportunities with suppliers.
