Abstract

The overall objective of this research is to analyze the effects of capital flows in Europe; the analysis period will run from 2000 to 2015. The paper describes how capital is distributed among different markets. We begin with a description of how capital flows are distributed among different financial markets and establish their behavior during the study period. A study is then conducted on how capital flows have behaved between different geographical regions to determine the evolution in the European case. An introduction is then made to interindustry capital flows to determine which industries and sectors have performed best based on the development of the different phases of the European stock market cycle. A distinction is made between how this behavior can affect flows based on capitalization and style. A projection is made of the behavior that could occur in the European equity market based on capital flows.
